What is characteristic of all of us is the fact that we are curious about the past and have a strong need to explore it. The field of maritime archaeology is as vast as the human culture. To be able to study underwater archaeological heritage, one has to know the methods of maritime archaeology and understand the affect the surrounding circumstances have on the site and its formation. The most typical archaeological sites are wrecks of different ages.
