The Picture Collections are in the new premises of National Board of Antiquities at Sturenkatu 2a.
The Picture Collections store, study and preserve cultural-historical and ethnological prints and photographs. The collections consist of the picture collections of history, ethnology and built heritage. The unit also includes a photographers studio. The collection has approximately 3 million items in all.
In addition to the Finnish material the archives have photographs, drawings, water colours, scale drawings, engravings, postcards, maps, silhouttes, films and video tapes on Finno-Ugrian and other culture.
