Raseborg Castle in Snappertuna was built under the command of Bo Joninpoika Grip presumably in the 1370s. The surrounding wall of this castle which was built in stages on a glaciated rock is in the shape of a horse shoe. Two bailey houses were connected to the main castle. The construction of the large round tower was carried out in the late 15th century. Next to the castle is the Tuna trading place, which was active in the medieval times and later moved to the village area. The Raseborg Castle fell into disuse in the 1550s, and it deteriorated. The restoration work was started in the late 19th century and was continued until the late 1980s.
Raseborg Castle Ruins are protected under the Antiquities Act.
Open to the public in May - September. Raseborg Gillet attends to the Castle during its opening hours.
