Guided tours 2010

It is possible to get to know the castle, its halls, rooms and towers on a guided tour throughout the year. A tour lasts approximately an hour.  The museums and the courtyards can be visited without a guide when the castle is open. (However there are some restrictions during the Ballet and Opera Festival.)

Visitors in a wheelchair are able to visit the museums and the courtyards.

In the summer, from 1 June until 14 August, guided tours in English, Finnish, Swedish and German every hour. In addition, in July guided tours in Finnish start on the hour and every half hour. Please note that if you wish to have your own guide you need to book it beforehand. The charge for own guide is 70€ (incl. 22% vat) per guide.

During the St. Olaf's day, on July 29th, guided tours available only in Finnish and English.

Backstage Guided Tours in July 2010

Every Wednesday and Saturday in July at 16.00. Backstage Guided Tours featuring Savonlinna Opera Festivals. Tours start from the first Coartyard of the castle.
Note! No Backstage Guided Tours on Saturday 17.7.2010. Normal entrance fees.

In the winter the tours are held mainly in Finnish and they start on the hour. Tours in other languages should be booked beforehand from the office at Olavinlinna castle, tel. (015) 531 164, olavinlinna@nba.fi.

Guided tours can also be held outside the opening hours on agreement.
